Welcome!

Since Engaged Encounter sessions begin promptly at 8:00P.M. Friday, we ask that you arrive at the retreat center between 7:00 and 7:30 P.M. so that you have enough time to register and get settled into your rooms before the presentation. The weekend will end about 3:00 P.M. on Sunday. It is very important that you make plans to stay for the entire length of the weekend.

Roommates are assigned on a random basis and no allowances are made for changing rooms. All rooms have two twin beds and private baths with showers. All rooms are non-smoking.

Below is a list of what to bring:

• All items of a personal nature which you might need over the weekend. Time constraints on the weekend do not allow for any free time to leave the retreat center.
• Canned soda or juice: There is an honor bar at the retreat center, and there is a refrigerator in the conference room you are welcome to use.
• An extra bath towel: The retreat house provides linens including one towel and wash cloth, but especially if you like to wrap your hair after washing it, an extra is handy.
• Wear casual and comfortable clothes.
• The sessions end after dark. There is enough light to get to the rooms, but if you like lots of light, a flashlight would be nice.

Please eat dinner before arriving on Friday night. Meal service starts with breakfast Saturday and ends with lunch on Sunday. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and usually some cookies are furnished all day in the conference room. If you have any special dietary requirements with which you will need help, please let us know as soon as possible.

Topics covered during the weekend include self-awareness, human sexuality, communications, decision making, Natural Family Planning, vocation, sacrament, unity and more (see the Talk Summary page).

The presenting teams will be looking forward to meeting you on Friday evening, and we are confident that you will find your weekend retreat rewarding.
